Lori Karsky Horn has always known that she was destined to be in the hospitality industry.  It all started when her family would travel in the summer and Lori would help plan their trip, from making the hotel reservations to planning where they would go for dinner...she could not help but get involved.

Her career in the food and beverage/hospitality industry began during her high school years, when she worked at various restaurants/catering venues, in both back and front of the house, in/around her hometown of Hartford, Connecticut.  She was also fortunate enough to work with concert promoters and assisted with the pre/post concert catering.

Lori left Connecticut to attend the University of New Hampshire's school of Hotel and Restaurant Management.  It was in her senior year that she was recruited by Marriott Corporation.  Also at this time, she was awarded the opportunity to study Russian Culture in St. Petersburg, Russia.  Marriott Corporation was willing to hold Lori's position with the company until she returned from her Russian studies.  So, off she went.

That decision paid off for both Lori and Marriott, as she spent the next ten years working for Marriott as one of their top producing Convention Managers in Sales and Marketing.  She was promoted several times and with every promotion was able to move to various parts of the United States and work with the meeting planners of both major associations and corporations.  Her travels included New York, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Anaheim and San Antonio.  It was during her time spent in San Antonio that Lori knew that this city was the ideal place for a woman to start her own business.  It just wasn't quite her time...yet.

Lori's last move with Marriott was to California.  While she enjoyed her time spent working for Marriott, Lori decided it was finally time to move on and start her own business.  Her idea was to start a Convention Concierge Service focused not just at hotels;&npsp; but also at convention centers.  She decided to take this idea to San Antonio, a booming convention city.  Lori launched her company, Creative Dining & Entertainment - The Convention Concierge, in 1993 in San Antonio, Texas.

Seventeen years later, Lori still loves every minute of working with the meeting planners, convention attendees, exhibitors, her restaurant/entertainment clients and operating her convention concierge service!  She looks forward to many more years of providing this service and to future expansion plans.
